What is a shared network folder? and How can I get to it?

The purpose of a network folder is so that we can have a central place to deposit and remove documents that we are willing to share with others as we teach the 8th Grade Science course. We would suggest that the documents be in either Microsoft Word or be in Adobe's pdf format. Most computers in the district will be able to open either of these formats easily. We would also suggest a naming convention; just name the document staring with your last name and then the name of the document. For example, Beth Price has submitted a Solar Bead Activity that could be used in our Human Body Systems unit. She would name that "Price: Solar Beads" and then she would place it in the Human Body Systems folder in the 8th Grade folder.

It is really easy to find the shared network folder. We have supplied a series of screenshots to lead you through the process. If you have any questions, please contact George Mehler.

First click on the My Computer icon on your desktop.

When MY Computer opens you will see...

Then click on the drive icon that starts with "Ms_science on"....then you will see...

Then just click on 7th Grade Science and you will see...(the units for 7th Grade!, not these...they are 8th grade, but you get the point)

Simple open up the folder you want to place the document in and now every other Middle School Science Teacher will be able to access it!
